Haven't Met You Yet.

Secret Sloper's enthusiasm is positively contagious today-- She wrote a great post about that feeling you can only get from singing a great song at the top of your lungs in your car. Today, she heard Michael Buble's song "Haven't Met You Yet" on her way home and it spoke to her-- about her miscarriage, about trying again, and how she WILL have a baby in her arms, sooner rather than later.

I've been listening to the song and tapping my feet all afternoon, thinking about the miracle of this little guy (girl?) that we'll meet in September. It's such a great reminder of where we've been and where we're going.

I might have to wait, I'll never give up.
I guess it's half timing, And the other half's luck.

Wherever you are, Whenever it's right,

You'll come out of nowhere and into my life.

And I know that we can be so amazing.

And baby your love is gonna change me.

And now I can see every possibility.

But somehow I know that it'll all turn out.

And you'll make me work so we can work to work it out.

And I promise you, kid, that I'll give so much more than I get.
I just haven't met you yet.

Such a sweet song.
Now, go over to Park Slope Purgatory to listen to it & wish Secret Sloper some good ole' fashion baby-making luck! She's ovulating!

  2. Haha! I love that song and belt it out to this kid all the time!

The only thing I disagree with in the song is the "I'll give so much more than I get" part. You do give and give and give with kids, BUT you get SO much more in return. Being a parent beats being a kid to a parent any day.

  5. I know - I always feel better singing at the top of my lungs in my car. It's a great form of release and therapy in its own way.

  7. I love that song! It plays almost every morning when I get ready for work. I never thought of it like that though, since the video is about him meeting a girl I just never thought of it being about a baby or waiting for one. Thanks =)
