8 Weeks

8 weeks in, which means we're only three days away from sharing the news with my parents! We can't wait-- this will all seem real, once we're able to spill the beans.

Baby is about the size of this (a celebrity's rock):

But looks like a gummy bear, like this (check out those hands & feet!):
Baking Baby Blakely

"This week, your little tadpole is starting to look a little bit more human. Other exciting developments include:

Your baby's eyelids, ears, upper lip and the tip of his soon-to-be adorable button nose are forming.

Junior will also sprout webbed fingers and toes this week—which you'll be well aware of in a few months, as baby starts early gymnastics classes inside you.

Baby's tiny heart has separated into four distinct chambers and is really ticking now—at a rate of 150 beats per minute. (168 yesterday!) That's more than twice your resting heart rate.

Your baby is now a little more than ½ inch long, about the size of the rock in Eva Longoria's engagement ring, and is about as heavy as the check Tony Parker wrote to pay for it."

  4. Telling parents is so fun!!! Are you telling in a special way or just busting out and saying it???
You lasted longer that we did. We told only our parents 2 days after our BFP on Thanksgiving.

  5. Oh, I can't wait to hear how you tell your parents! And Baby Blakely is getting so big. I laughed about the Eva Longoria ring. It might be a huge rock but Baby Blakely is a lot more precious. :)

  6. I can't believe you've been able to wait this long to spill the beans! HOW EXCITING once you actually can. Do you think they "know"? Do you have something special planned?

Also, I freakin' LOVE your descriptions of what's happening each week. They are awesome.

  7. 8 weeks! Yay! I can't wait to hear how you tell your parents. Even just simply telling them is so exciting. I am sure there will be many happy tears all around.

Even after being told 4 times by me, my family are still very cute about it. They make lots of comments about not lifting things, and we celebrate with non-aloholic champagne.
