Doctor's Appointment: Week 38

No real progress today.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. I know that this is no indication of when I will go into labor, but it would be nice to know that the contractions I've been having and the general discomfort I've felt over the past week were actually doing something. Every centimeter I dialate now is one that I don't have to endure during active labor! Here are the stats from Baby Watch 2010:
Week 38:

Weight: +1lb from last week. Finally hit my pre-pregnancy weight.

BP:
Normal

Cervix:
Still 1 cm dialated & 50% effaced. Cervix is soft (ripened).

Baby's Position:
Still unsure since I didn't dialate more, but she said again today that she thought she could feel his head.

Overall Progress: Still looking good. The lack of progress this week is certainly not a concern-- it just is what it is. The doctor reminded me that I could be induced any time we want starting next week. I'm pretty sure that we're still avoiding this option unless I go past my due date. I think he'll come when he's ready, and if he chooses to snuggle in past 10 months, then we can talk about induction.

That's all!

  2. I agree! Cherish these last few days / weeks because before long, baby will be here and you won't even remember what being pregnant felt like and what it was like being able to sleep at night ;).
