It's a...

BOY!!!

Are you stunned? I am!

Since the pregnancy has been so different, I really thought that it might be a girl, but it was very clear today that Liam will have a baby brother!

There are a few things that I'm a little sad that I'll miss by not having a little girl-- picking out her prom dress, planning her wedding together, seeing her have her own babies one day, etc. BUT, as I've learned from having Liam, being a boy mom is awesome, and I can't wait to do it again.

Most importantly, everything looked perfectly healthy today (nasal bone clearly identified!). This is such a relief after the anxiety I've had the past few weeks.

Now the debate over names begins! We had our girl name picked out, but hadn't agreed on a boy name-- didn't think we needed to worry about it... WRONG!

  2. So happy to hear everything is looking perfect! I have a friend IRL due the same time as you, she also struggled (3 years) to get pregnant, has a little boy Liam's age, and she finds out soon what she's having. It would be pretty funny if she is also having another boy! :) I think your feelings about not having a little girl are totally normal. I know that I personally would also feel the same way if we were never to have a girl (or had a girl first and then not also have a son).

  4. You are going to be the CUTEST boy mom with two little boys.

Also, that "I'm a boy" picture is kind of hilarious. Talk about making it obvious, kid!

And finally, SO happy you can put the worried behind you re: nasal bone. Hooray!

  5. I AM stunned- but so excited! Think of how stinkin' cute those two boys will be- and best of friends- I think it's perfect! I know it's disppointing to not be able to look forward to "girl stuff" BUT in reference to my blog post and your sweet comment yesterday (thank you, by the way, and I'm sorry you are going through the same thing- ugh, stinks) think of the money you will save on hairbows alone- ha! Yay for HEALTHY baby boys- congratulations!

  9. Congratulations! Two boys! That will be so fun. I can understand the desire to have a boy and a girl but I think the chances of them being friends is greater if they are the same. I hope that is the case here! They definitely will be close in age! ;) I'm so glad everything else looked good. Congrats again!

  11. Stunned...and thrilled! You are going to have three men who can't get enough of you :) And no teenage girl tantrums!

I think it's natural to mourn the other gender a little bit. My mom had 4 daughters, loves having daughters, but always kind of wistfully looks at moms and sons together (she seems to think they're nicer to their moms).

Plus, as my BFF who is having her second boy in October said: no need to buy new stuff!

  12. Whoo hoo!!! Congrats on son #2! How exciting.

I worry about the same things if we have another boy. I was talking to my girlfriend who has two girls - she was telling me how she was a little bummed she never had a son but would get to treat our son as her own. I said as long as I got to go prom dress shopping and wedding planning with her girls.
